I need to know how important third party windowed support is for the testing phases, and eventually live. Right now, you can only play using the official client which has very bad windowed mode support because of the way it checks for modifications running against your EverQuest client. I will at least get WinEQ working since I hate running it full screen and don't care for Sony's windowed option...

I think WinEQ is also important for EQPlayNice which helps a lot of people with peformance.

However it wouldn't be the end of the world not to support it on this server as we shouldn't be boxing anyways... however it's not realistic to think people don't want to be multitasking when they play!

Third party windowed applications are no longer being supported with the current limitation imposed. EQPlayNice is deprecated, as you can set a FPS limit in the options window (ALT + O) when in game.

I could see this being a toss up for some players depending on if you allow boxing our not.  Some programs are nice to run for windowed mode if boxing.  Makes them run smoother imo.  But if not boxing, then I really see no reason.

Don't ask me why it happens. But alot of the time, when leaving the game in an unmodified windowed mode. I get a "Reset Device Fail" alot. I even use WinEQ2 when I'm only playing one character. I have the payed version, and find it absolutely wonderful. Even without EQplaynice. It is still very much better than SOEs implementation.

Yeah. Actually i can't do "alt + enter" (which should change from windowed mode to fullscreen) cause then i always 100% get this error "Reset Device Fail".

I'm using forceware drivers.

I have no problems though as long as i don't attempt to change resolution/go fullscreen.
